Payment operations

Payment operations cover all cash and non-cash payment transactions among legal and natural persons. Depending on the residence of payment system participants, payment transactions can be national and international.

The national payment operations cover interbank payment transactions (non-cash) performed among participants in the Central Bank’s RTGS and DNS systems and the internal payment transactions  (non-cash and cash) performed among clients holding accounts in one bank. The Central Bank of Montenegro publishes data on the volume and value of performed interbank payment transactions, and in line with the Decision on Reports to Be Submitted to the Central Bank of Montenegro in line with the Law on Banks, data on the volume and value of recorded internal payment transactions.
